Here comes the cooler weather! And with it.. the sniffles, colds and flus.. some things we can do without! I thought I’d share my fantastic ‘Flu Tea’ with you. I’ve been using this tea to ward off any flu symptoms for nearly 20 years! Just dilute it for kids, keep it in the fridge cold and heat it up, or add the honey while its warm, then chill. It actually makes a lovely cold drink. To make it the best tea possible, of course it’s ideal to use filtered pH balanced water, organic ingredients, and definitely make sure your honey is cold-processed (not the supermarket variety). Flu Tea Recipe.
2 lemons, cut in half
2 cloves garlic
About 1cm of ginger
Squeeze juice from lemons and place juice, seeds, and left over lemon skins in a pot. Pour in water. Roughly cut the two cloves of garlic and ginger. It’s fine to leave the skin on the ginger. Place in the pot.
Bring the pot to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 mins. Put the lid on the pot and allow it to sit for at least 10 mins with no heat underneath it.
Strain the tea into a jug or glass bottle. I actually put the honey in now, but you don’t have to. It’s at least 2 tablespoons of honey per cup, to your own taste.
